Building Rules for Fire Safety

The rules below are all derived from the terms and conditions of your leasehold and/or tenancy agreement. They are re-stated here in plain English to promote understanding. This document does not replace or supersede your leasehold or tenancy agreements.

For further details of the rules and the clauses in your tenancy or leasehold agreement which govern them, please scroll down below the image below.

Use of the Carpark and Garages:
Your lease requires that:

Clause 3.9.3. – “not to bring onto the premises anything of a specially combustible,
inflammable or dangerous nature”

Clause 3.24.4 – “not to bring on the premises any fuel oil or lubricating oil except inside
the tank or mechanical parts of the car”

Clause 3.24.5 – “not to clean or undertake any maintenance work on any car”

Clause 3.24.1 – “not to leave litter or any rubbish in the car park.”

Electric Bikes, Scooters and other eVehicles:

It has become necessary that we set out our requirements that the use, storage and charging of electrical powered scooters, boards or similar within the boundaries of Chantry Waters is specifically prohibited.

Furthermore no attempt should be made to charge an electrical vehicle by the use of
an extension lead from your apartment.

Like other organisations responsible for managing apartment buildings we are looking at the practicalities of installing car charging facilities and will update you on this.

Barbeques

We would also make clear that under no circumstance shall any form of barbecue be
allowed anywhere, including the balconies of apartments, and anything of a
flammable nature shall not be stored on balconies.

Household Appliances:

We have ongoing concerns over the possibility of defective household appliances and would urge you all to check that none of your appliances, particularly fridges, freezers and clothes dryers are properly maintained and are not subject to any manufacturer’s recall due to suspected causes of fire in use. We hope the above assists you in the continuance of your enjoyment of Chantry Waters and feel free to let us know of any other concerns you may have or if you require any further information or clarification of the points raised.
